Transmission uses EML lasers and APD receivers over single-mode fiber, supporting distances up to 30 km (40 km with FEC). The BX-30U transmits on 1304/1309 nm and receives on complementary channels, while the BX-30D operates in reverse. Modules must be paired for full-duplex operation. They consume ≤ 4.5 W, operate from a +3.3 V supply, and provide DDM/DOM monitoring via I²C.
