The 100Gbps QSFP28 BIDI ER Transceiver is a high-performance optical module designed for long-distance communication over single-mode fiber (SMF) up to 30 kilometers. Supporting 100GBASE-ER BIDI with a lane signaling rate of 106.25Gbps using PAM4 modulation, the module features an EML laser transmitter and an APD receiver for robust data transmission. With a 4×25.78Gbps NRZ electrical interface and a simplex LC connector, it ensures efficient and reliable high-speed data transfer. The transceiver adheres to QSFP28 MSA, IEEE 802.3cu, SFF-8636, and SFF-8679 standards, making it ideal for high-performance networking applications.
Operating with a single +3.3V power supply and a maximum power consumption of 4.5W, the module functions within a case temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. Advanced digital diagnostic monitoring provides real-time feedback on temperature, voltage, bias current, and optical power. Its compliance with EU Directive 2015/863/EU and RoHS ensures environmentally friendly operation. The CT-QSFP28-BX-30U and CT-QSFP28-BX-30D are bidirectional QSFP28 modules designed for 100GBASE-ER1 transmission. Each integrates a 4×25.78 Gb/s NRZ electrical interface (CAUI-4), mapped to a single 106.25 Gb/s PAM4 optical channel. Transmission uses EML lasers and APD receivers over single-mode fiber, supporting distances up to 30 km (40 km with FEC). The BX-30U transmits on 1304/1309 nm and receives on complementary channels, while the BX-30D operates in reverse. Modules must be paired for full-duplex operation. They consume ≤ 4.5 W, operate from a +3.3 V supply, and provide DDM/DOM monitoring via I²C.
