The 25Gbps SFP28 Active Optical Cable (AOC) is designed for short-range data communication over multimode fiber (MMF), supporting transmission distances up to 70 meters with OM3 fiber and 100 meters with OM4 fiber. Operating at a wavelength of 850nm, the module integrates a VCSEL laser and a PIN photodetector to provide high-speed, reliable performance at data rates of 25.78Gbps. Its hot-pluggable SFP28 form factor ensures compatibility with a wide range of networking hardware and applications, including 25GBASE-SR Ethernet and Infiniband EDR.

The cable assembly consumes less than 1W of power and functions reliably within a commercial operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C. It incorporates internal Clock Data Recovery (CDR) on both transmitter and receiver sides for enhanced signal integrity, with optional digital diagnostics available via an I2C interface for real-time monitoring of temperature, voltage, and optical power. The CT-25G-S28AOC-XX is RoHS-compliant and an ideal choice for energy-efficient, high-performance networking solutions in data centers and enterprise environments.
