The 25Gbps Bi-Directional SFP28 Transceiver is a high-performance module designed for single-mode fiber (SMF) communication over distances of up to 10 kilometers. Supporting data rates from 24.33Gbps to 25.78Gbps, it is ideal for applications such as 25GE BASE-LR Ethernet and CPRI Option 10/eCPRI. This transceiver is available in two configurations: the CT-SFP28-BX-20U, which features a 1270nm DML laser transmitter and a 1330nm receiver, and the CT-SFP28-BX-20D, which uses a 1330nm DML laser transmitter and a 1270nm receiver. With compliance to SFP28 MSA, SFF-8472, SFF-8431, and SFF-8432 standards, it ensures compatibility with a wide range of networking equipment.
Operating on a +3.3V power supply and consuming less than 1.2W, the module is highly energy-efficient. The transmitter delivers an average optical power output between -4dBm and +4dBm, with an extinction ratio of 3.5dB, while the receiver supports a sensitivity of -11dBm and an overload threshold of +2dBm. Advanced features like Loss of Signal (LOS) detection and integrated digital diagnostics allow real-time monitoring of parameters such as temperature, voltage, bias current, transmitted power, and received power. Designed for commercial (0°C to 70°C) and industrial (-40°C to 85°C) temperature ranges, the hot-pluggable transceiver ensures reliable performance and easy integration into modern networking systems.
These hot-pluggable transceivers support 24.33 to 25.78 Gbps operation and comply with IEEE 802.3cc, SFP28 MSA, SFF-8431, SFF-8432, and SFF-8472 standards. They use a simplex LC connector for single-fiber transmission: BX-20U transmits at 1270 nm and receives at 1330 nm, while BX-20D transmits at 1330 nm and receives at 1270 nm. Designed for 10 km reach, the modules integrate internal CDR on both Tx and Rx chains to ensure low jitter and stable operation. Power consumption is <1.2 W with a single 3.3 V supply, and both commercial (0 °C to +70 °C) and industrial (−40 °C to +85 °C) temperature ranges are available. Integrated DDMI provides real-time monitoring of key operating parameters.
