The CT-QSFP28-BX-30U and CT-QSFP28-BX-30D are bidirectional QSFP28 modules designed for 100GBASE-ER1 transmission. Each integrates a 4×25.78 Gb/s NRZ electrical interface (CAUI-4), mapped to a single 106.25 Gb/s PAM4 optical channel. Transmission uses EML lasers and APD receivers over single-mode fiber, supporting distances up to 30 km (40 km with FEC). The BX-30U transmits on 1304/1309 nm and receives on complementary channels, while the BX-30D operates in reverse. Modules must be paired for full-duplex operation. They consume ≤ 4.5 W, operate from a +3.3 V supply, and provide DDM/DOM monitoring via I²C.
