Operating on a single +3.3V power supply with power dissipation below 2W, the transceiver is energy-efficient. It functions within a case operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C, suitable for commercial environments. The module’s advanced design includes a two-wire interface for integrated digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM), providing real-time insights into key parameters like temperature, voltage, bias current, and optical power.
Optically, the transmitter offers an average output power of -5dBm to 0dBm, with an extinction ratio of 3.5dB and compliance with IEEE 802.3ae eye mask requirements. The receiver sensitivity is rated at -15dBm, with an overload threshold of 0.5dBm. The LOS (Loss of Signal) feature provides reliable link monitoring, with assert and deassert thresholds of -30dBm and -18dBm, respectively.
Electrically, the transceiver features a differential impedance of 100Ω, supporting input swing differentials from 120mV to 820mV. It includes functionality for Transmitter Disable (TX Disable) and Fault Indicators, offering precise control and fault management. The module also supports serial EEPROM for device identification and diagnostics, accessible via the 2-wire serial interface.
